Hong Kong Festival 2011

To Sea Dragons Paddlers,

Riding on the success of the 2010 Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival, I am very pleased to announce, the 2011 event will be staged on 17 – 19 June 2011 at Victoria Harbour off East Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, Hong Kong.

This year 191 dragon boat teams from 12 countries/regions with over 5,000 paddlers competed in the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival and entertained some 145,000 spectators. The event received very positive feedback from paddlers, our guests and the general public, and gained extensive and positive coverage by local and overseas media.

The 2011 Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival will be as follows:

Date: 17 – 19 June 2011 (Fri – Sun)
Venue: Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade & Victoria Harbour, Kowloon, Hong Kong.

Race Categories

• Open International Championships
• Mixed International Championships
• Women’s International Championships
• Junior A International Championships (age between 12 to 18)
• Junior B International Championships (age between 12 to 16)
• Senior A International Championships (age above 40)
• Senior B International Championships (age above 50)

Proposed Itinerary

• 16 June Team arrival / Practice at race venue
• 17 June Qualifying race for overseas teams
• 18 June Race Day
• 19 June Race Day and Celebration Dinner on 19 June evening
• 20 June Team Departure
